Take me out to the ball game

Last night my office rented out the pool area at the Zephyer's game. It's a cool area with a big pool and two smaller pools in the outfield where you can watch the game.

I am not a fan of baseball but since there were hamburgers, hot dogs, cookie cake, beer and a swimming pool involved I was excited! Even though they lost the weather was perfect and it was a fun time.

Spillway Race 2009

Sunday was the annual Spillway trail run. It's a 3 mile run in Norco LA. The 2nd largest trail run in the country!

you start up on the levee then run down into the "guantlett" which is a huge mudd pit! then run the rest of the course in the woods, jumping over logs, ducking under branches etc. Even though the course wasn't very sloppy this year it was tons of fun.

I ran with Sarah and Adrienne and we had a blast, after we enjoyed the post race festivies and nice weather . Beer out of our new spillway mugs, BBQ, snowballs, hotdogs and chee-wees!

The festivies continued over at the spillway bar where the beer was flowing and we were even talked into dancing on the pool table:)

or maybe we were just "standing" on the pool table...

anyway it all of this was before noon:) It was a great day.

Vanessa's birthday / Amy's visit

This past weekend was very busy. My roomate from college Amy and her husband Jason drove all the way from Georgia to visit! It had been 6 years since our last visit so we were long over due!

We had a great time, ate lots of good food, walked up and down Magazine street, walked the entire french quarter, riverwalk, french market, ate snowballs, played Bocce ball, and even a little cornhole.

Vanessa's 30th birthday surprise party was Friday night and Amy and Jason wee more than happy to tag along. They had a great time, who wouldn't with a margaritta from superior???:)

Vanessa was very surprised to find us all waiting for her when she thought it was juts going to be dinner with her husband. What a great birthday surprise!

Vacation

Last year for vacation Adam and I had such a great time in Destin so we decided to go back this year. We stayed at the SanDestin for a whole week and it was wonderful.

We did lots while we were there, went to the beach, Kayaked in the bay, played tennis, mini golf, went to the water park, rented bikes, hung out at the pool, and ate some good food:)

Father's Day

This year for Father's Day we went to Adam's parents place in Mississippi. My parents came along for their first trip out to the Mississippi house.

It was tons of fun but super hot. We had a great time hanging out, eating hamburgers, swimming in the pond, going on gator rides and my dad even got to shoot one of Adam's guns.

30th Birthday

On June 10th I said goodbye to my 20's and I turned the big 3-0!!!

This year was a great birthday my parents took me to lunch at Cafe' Degas then I took the rest of the day off from work and went to the pool. Dinner was at Adam's parents where I got to pick the menu and we even had cake, ice cream and presents:) Of course Mimi and Lucy had to help me blow out the candles...

St. Joe's Bar on magazine was the site of my 30th birthday party. It was such a good time! Old friends, new friends, track friends, work friends and my family were all there. Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a special night:)

Miles

So about a month ago I decided to keep that adorable kitten I had found under my house. I brought him to the vet, got him some shots and cleaned him up and now he lives inside and his name is Miles. When I brought him in he weighed 2 lbs and was about 6 weeks old now he's almost 4 lbs!

He is VERY active, playful and teething right now so he plays with and bites everything! Adam is not a cat person but he's been comming around slowly.
